Regular pattern of Sunday services  (but see below for changes in March and April)

First Sunday of the month:

10.00am Family Communion*

All other Sundays:

9.30am Family Praise

10.30am Parish Communion* (4th Sunday: Morning Prayer)

In addition, on 2nd and 4th Sundays

8.00am Holy Communion (BCP)

*10.00/10.30 services will also be broadcast over Zoom

In March and April Family Communion moves to the second Sunday, as there will be special Family Communion services on Mothering Sunday (10th March) and Easter Sunday (31st March):

3rd March:  9.30am Family Praise & 10.30 Parish Communion

10th March: Mothering Sunday 10.00am Family Communion

7th April: 9.30am Family Praise & 10.30 Parish Communion

14th April: 10.00am Family Communion

Special services in Lent and Holy Week  2024

Sunday 24th March: Palm Sunday.  Family Praise at 9.30 and Parish Communion at 10.30.  There will be Palm processions and a reading of the Passion gospel at both services.

Sunday 31st March: Easter Sunday.  Family Communion at 10.00am will be followed by refreshments and an Easter egg hunt.

Between these Sundays is Holy Week. There will be two special services:

Thursday 28th March (Maundy Thursday) at 8.00pm: a service of Holy Communion at which we remember the Last Supper and Jesus washing his disciples’ feet.

Friday 29th March (Good Friday) at 10.00am: United Walk of Witness, starting in St Lawrence Church Yard.  With our friends from Bovingdon Baptist Church we will process up the High Street in silence behind a cross, as we remember Jesus’ journey to his place of execution. Pausing outside the Library for a hymn and a reading we will finish with a short service in the Baptist Church.  Coffee and hot cross buns will be served afterwards.

A traditional Communion service using the Book of Common Prayer.

We welcome all ages to this shortened communion service which lasts about 45 minutes and involves children and families. Come and be part of our Church family.

9.30am Family Praise (every Sunday except the first of the month). This 30-minute service is designed for young  families. An opportunity to worship, learn and pray together.

10.30am Parish Communion / Morning Prayer
Parish Communion and Morning Prayer use contemporary language, last about 50 minutes and include a sermon.

For Young People

Messy Church – in church or Hall on the second Sunday of each month at 4.15pm  For families and children – A Bible story, craft, games and refreshments.
4.15pm Explorers— in church or Hall.  Fourth Sunday of the month during term
Bible stories, games and activities  for 7-11’s
