Celebrating the Past – Creating the Future
For 180 years, St Lawrence has stood at the heart of Bovingdon — a place of worship, comfort, celebration and community life. As we look to the future, we are preparing to build a modern Annexe and reorder the interior of the church so that we can continue to serve our community for many years to come. This project will create a warm and flexible space where community groups, families and friends can meet, celebrate, learn and support one another.
We warmly invite you to take part and quite literally leave your mark upon it…..
We have so far raised £1.5M and need a further £180,000 to complete this project. Every brick, chair and tile brings us closer. Together we can build something lasting.
Sponsor a Chair, Brick or Roof Tile…..
After sponsoring a brick, you will be invited to submit the wording for your individual commemorative plaque, which will feature on our bespoke brick artwork installed inside our new Annexe. Those sponsoring a roof tile will have their name included on a sponsor list displayed in the foyer of the new Annexe. Chair sponsors will be contacted directly to discuss and agree your inscription, which will feature on a metal plaque attached to your sponsored chair.
Chair

Sponsor one of the chairs that will host weddings, meetings, celebrations and gatherings, as well as, our regular church services.
Give Another Amount
If you would prefer to donate without sponsoring, you may do so here:
(All gifts over £1,000 will be permanently commemorated in the new Annexe on a specially designed display)
Why The ‘Patience’ Project Matters?
Our current space limits what we can offer. The new Annexe & re ordered church will allow us to:
– Expand children and youth activities
– Provide space for community groups and well-being events
– Host celebrations and gatherings
– Offer a warm, welcoming community hub for the village
Leave a Legacy
This is an opportunity to mark:
– A family name
– A special anniversary
– A loved one’s memory
– A commitment to our village
For 180 years, others built what we now enjoy. Now it’s our turn.
